A three-part series -- Classes to be held in February, April, June, August, October and December.

Class 1 - Pregnancy Expectations. This is Class 1 of a three-part series. The series is free for mothers who are delivering at River Parishes Hospital and is $30 for mothers who are not delivering at River Parishes Hospital. The class is designed to answer all those ''why is this happening?'' questions. Topics include: physical and emotional changes of the woman and her partner; nutrition and exercise during pregancy; and pre-delivery arrangements. Recommended gestational age is 12 - 40 weeks. Class 2 - Labor & Delivery Expectations: This is Class 2 of a three-part series. The series is free for mothers who are delivering at River Parishes Hospital and is $30 for mothers who are not delivering at River Parishes Hospital. This class is designed to answer questions and alleviate the fears of labor and delivery. The main obstacle of delivery is fear of the unknown. This class brings the delivery process to reality. Topics include: true vs. false labor; when to leave for the hospital, stages of labor, pain control and walks through the entire hospital stay. Recommended gestational age is 32 - 40 weeks. Class 3 - Newborn & Postpartum Expectations: This is Class 3 of a three-part series. The series is free for mothers who are delivering at River Parishes Hospital and is $30 for mothers who are not delivering at River Parishes Hospital. This class includes the changes in the body after delivery and the recovery period for the mother. The class also focuses on the newborn at home. Recommended gestational age is 34 - 40 weeks.
